We want to back Queensland talent and the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) continues to work hand in hand with the Queensland Government as a statutory body to ensure there are pathways to elite sport right across the state.

High Performance Strategy

The QAS 2032 High Performance Strategy serves as the blueprint that will supercharge Queensland’s efforts to identify the journeys of talented athletes and coaches towards unmatched success at the 2032 Games.

YouFor2032 Talent Identification Program presented by RACQ

The QAS Youfor2032 Talent Identification Program is a statewide talent search for athletes with potential for medal success in 2032.

The program is open to aspiring athletes aged 13 to 23 years for Olympic sports and 13 to 30 years for Paralympic sports. The development of the YouFor2032 app allows aspiring athletes to self-test at home.

The QAS Para Unit

The Para Unit was developed as a collaboration between the Queensland Government, the Australian Institute of Sport, Paralympics Australia and the QAS.

The primary aim is to double the number of athletes by 2029, bring new talent into the pipeline and open up access to high performance pathways across Queensland.

QAS Regional Pre-Elite Program

The QAS Regional Pre-Elite Program marks a strategic investment in strengthening the regional high-performance pathway.

QAS has commenced regional engagement to support delivery of the program, with strong early support from local governments.
