Sport is part of who we are as Queenslanders. The Queensland Government is attracting more major sporting events and sporting organisations to our state, investing in stronger pathways for athletes, coaches and officials, reducing the barriers to representative sport, and creating more opportunities to participate, compete and succeed, from local clubs to the world stage.
The Queensland Government is cementing our place as the home of sport in Australia.
More sport in Queensland
Queenslanders love sport, and they deserve to see more of it in their own backyard. The new Sport Attraction and Investment Fund will help bring more sporting organisations and events to Queensland, creating jobs, boosting local economies and cementing our place as the home of Australian sport.
More events in Queensland
The new Sponsorship+ program will help bring more sporting events to communities across Queensland, bridging the gap for events not identified as ‘major events’, but deliver localised economic benefits, foster community engagement and boost participation in sport. That means more opportunities for Queenslanders to watch, participate in and be inspired by sport, no matter where they live.
Partnering with State Level Organisations
Strong sporting organisations build strong communities. The new Sporting Partnerships Fund will provide record investment and four years of funding certainty, giving sporting organisations the confidence to plan for the future, grow participation, and continue to work with the Queensland Government to help more Queenslanders get active.
