Right now, Queensland is in the middle of a defining decade for sport.

We're building towards the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and a legacy that will benefit Queenslanders right across the state, cementing our place as the home of Australian sport.

That's why, last year, we asked Queenslanders the question: 'What does 2032 mean for you?' From Cairns to the Gold Coast, more than 400 attendees shared their thoughts in person.

We also received nearly 2,000 survey responses and over 90 submissions, which have helped shape our plan for the future of Queensland sport.

From that feedback, we are excited to share Queensland Spirit: The Road to 2032 (PDF, 7MB), the first stage of our plan to build a lasting sporting legacy. This plan is about backing Queenslanders, and that's why we have shaped it around the Queensland spirit.

Sport in Queensland is about connection. It is the volunteers on the sidelines, the kids running onto a field for the first time, the athletes representing Queensland on the world stage, and the communities that come alive around them. It is what binds us together across regions, generations, and backgrounds.

Through Play On! Sports Vouchers, we're making it easier for more Queenslanders to get active and join a local club.

Through the Games On! Grassroots Infrastructure Program, we are backing our clubs and communities with the facilities they need to thrive.

We'll strengthen pathways from grassroots to gold, attract more major sporting events and organisations to our state, and continue building a world-class sporting industry.

This plan will help more Queenslanders get active, support our volunteers and local clubs, improve sporting facilities, and ensure every Queensland community shares in the opportunities.
