Ahead of the Games, once-in-a-lifetime infrastructure is being delivered as a lasting legacy for Queenslanders.
It is imperative we make the most of the next six years, and beyond, to inspire all Queenslanders to be more active, more often.
We will continue to collaborate across the private, public and non-government sector to:
Unlock our places and spaces
To find more ways for Queenslanders to access fit-for-purpose places and spaces that are vibrant hubs of activity.
Pilot programs
To try new ways to work together on rolling out initiatives across the state, which could include programs to:
- Help more girls stay involved in organised sport into and beyond their teenage years.
- Use physical activity to engage young Queenslanders at risk of disengagement through early intervention programs.
- Promote and celebrate a positive culture in sport, starting with a focus on improving sideline behaviour.
Expansion of Sport HQ
To ensure volunteers have access to free, accessible online learning modules and resources to help guide sport clubs on matters including governance, finance, people management and even marketing.
Together, we will deliver a lasting legacy for Queenslanders through the power of sport and cement our state as the home of sport in Australia.
